Under section CX 24 of the Income Tax Act 2007, employer-provided health and safety benefits may be exempt from Fringe Benefit Tax when the benefit targets a specific, identifiable workplace health risk — such as stress, repetitive strain or postural injury from desk work. This means treatments like our Office Syndrome Massage, Deep Tissue Sports Massage and Remedial Massage — which directly address documented workplace hazards — have strong grounds to qualify for the FBT exemption when provided as part of a structured staff wellness programme. For sole traders and business owners, massage treatments aimed at managing a specific work-related health risk may also be deductible as a business expense.
